IC/ICG/PAL caboose in park along tracks

View of the ex PAL caboose from the parking area along the tracks.

yard office and yard area

Turned to the right from the above picture. The yard office is the white building the center. The trackage off to the right is the Elizabethtown (or E-town) branch of the PAL. Behind the yard office is the back track of the wye which can be used for turning equipment. There is a track not easily seen in this picture in front of the yard office for a lumber transfer operation which looks like they currently are loading ties. The track closest to the camera is the PAL Main line the second closest is the passing track for the main line. The track with the cars is the branch passing track and finally is the branch mainline. This is the best spot to catch TTX cars for auto frame loading and has the most wide spread PAL train service.

Paducah end of caboose

In the park looking at the caboose and the tracks. That is not the original truck or generator arrangement. Was that a PAL or an ICG modification?

Zoom in on the generator detail.

Milepost 0.0 on the branch as well as the switch to the lumber loading area.

Black branch road sign on signal case.

Black branch road sign on signal case. If there is a location not listed on this web sight on the locations page send a copy of this type of sign if available and I'll add the data. Failing that I'll need a mile post number and road name.

Looking west/ Railroad south from Black branch Rd.

Looking west/ Railroad south from Black branch Rd. The furthest switch with the tank cars is a single ended track, does anyone have a name? The second switch along side the MOW equipment is were the passing track starts, the switch just before the crossing connects the siding that the MOW equipment is on to the passing track and the closes switch is were the branch splits off from the siding. The park with the caboose is off camera to the right.
